I am a Dutch Designer, born in Amsterdam and I have been living in Bali for the last 16 years. As a child my parents moved to Curaçao, an island in the former Dutch Antilles. It was there I developed my love for the tropics.

As the daughter of a highly creative mother, I spent my childhood outdoors - playing, claying, drawing and building sandcastles. So, my love for designing and creating beauty began at an early age - a love that plays an important role in my life through to the present day.

Aspiring to make a living out of what I liked to do most, I studied Design at the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI), followed by a 15-year career as head designer for a leading Dutch fashion house. During this time I traveled the world and enjoyed every moment of my travels, searching for inspiration, new ideas and the most beautiful fabrics.

It was during a business trip to Bali that I rediscovered my tropical roots and immediately fell in love with the beauty of this incredible island. I subsequently decided I wanted a change of direction and turned my attention to architecture and villa design.

During the past 14 years, I have been involved in multiple luxury developments – leading the design from inception through to completion on site. This involves all aspects of the design process: architecture; interiors; lighting and furniture design.

As a highly visual person, I believe that a beautiful environment has a calming and soothing effect on people and I am constantly striving to achieve this effect with my designs.

Beauty gets created with love and attention to detail. I am passionate about creating beautiful spaces that touch people’s hearts; environments that are easy on the eye and soothing on the soul - spaces that have a special energy - where people really love to be and feel happy. As such, designing a house is a highly personal process, during which clients like to feel heard and often prefer to have a close connection with the designer.
The personal approach I offer, is one of my stronger qualities that the clients I work with really appreciate. I believe it is vital for obtaining an optimal result.

I have a great love for animals and believe nature combines to create a peaceful environment. My focus is always on a holistic outcome which incorporates nature, resulting in spaces that can be enjoyed by both humans and animals.
