“Create me a stunning home, where I can invite and entertain all my friends, and please include some fun-features.”
That was the brief for this turn-key villa, designed and developed for a client who wanted to have his dream Bali house, but did not want the hassle of being involved in the design nor the realisation of it.
The result is a majestic two bedroom villa, that enjoys uninterrupted views of the setting sun and the mountains in the distance.
The living room is open to the upstairs bedroom, and reveals the impressive thatched roof. By connecting the upstairs loft to the living area, the villa has a certain feeling of grandness, yet by doing so, a sense of intimacy and flow is maintained.
The whole house can be opened up to the surroundings and, with the many places to relax and unwind, is ideal for indoor-outdoor living. The bale by the private pool doubles as an inviting place for daytime lounging and a romantic extra bedroom for al-fresco sleeping at night, while the swing chair on the terrace is loved by everyone to ‘hang’. The terrace features a sunken jungle bath in a fish pond, and surrounded by water features it is large enough for several people to gather around on a summer evening.
The light-filled bedroom that is one step away from the swimming pool features an incredible gold buddha pendant, designed by Delighting. While the expansive upstairs loft was given a dark wooden approach and a Vishnu standing light. Crisp white bedding and silver details create a romantic setting for this still intimate bedroom, which opens up to the atrium below.
The result is an intimate, luxurious retreat with a harmonious style and calming energy, perfect for the client to hold his happy gatherings. Enough twinkle to spark the eye - yet at the same time keeping a vibe of ‘understated luxury’.
